A cannon booms at high noon, and the race begins in the Oklahoma Land Rush of 1893.
Amid the crowd is Minnie Hoopes. Tenacious and fiercely independent, she is determined to endure the brutal frontier and create a life of her own. Guarding her solitude, she distances herself from bordering homesteaders and finds peace under the starry nights of the vast frontier. But this is outlaw country, and Minnie soon has the blood of two gunfighters on her hands. After a renegade outlaw named Stot discovers her secrets, she forms an unlikely friendship with him. With each passing season, Minnie’s past grows more haunting and threatens the future she has risked everything to build.
For readers of Cold Mountain and The Four Winds, In the Great Quiet is based on the true story of the author’s great-great-grandparents. This sweeping and transportive survival story explores a woman’s connection with the land, her reconciliation with the past, and her elemental search for home against all odds.

In the heartwarming journey of “A Tale of First Friends," join Avery, an outgoing, fluffy Husky pup, as he embarks on a delightful journey to find his first true friend. From the moment he sets paws in this world, Avery’s friendly spirit leads him to a series of unexpected adventures. With each wag of his tail, Avery learns the value of patience and the joy of friendship.
Author Signing- Michael Pharis
Michael Pharis is a physical therapist and writer living in Fort Smith, Arkansas. His debut novel, Death in the River Valley, follows a rookie cop in Depression-era Fort Smith as he attempts to solve two seemingly unrelated murders he believes are linked. His investigation pits him against conspiring politicians, masked vigilantes, and even some of his closest friends. Bradford won't stop until he finds the truth, but it might ruin his entire state - and get him killed.
Death in the River Valley is a murder mystery and historical thriller that blends the Great Depression imagery of Kristin Hannah's The Four Winds with the twists and turns of a David Baldacci thriller.
Author Signing - Jennifer Farley
This Was Not the Plan is an honest and tender memoir about love, loss, and the long road forward.
When Jennifer Farley’s husband died unexpectedly, she was left to raise their three young boys on her own, navigating heartbreak, fear, and the overwhelming weight of trying to be everything they needed. What followed was a decade of learning how to keep moving when the path disappears beneath you.
With brave transparency and quiet strength, Farley invites readers into her family’s journey through moments of despair and hope, isolation and unexpected grace. She reflects on the power of community, the courage it takes to accept help, and the steady presence of faith when answers feel far away.
Whether you’re supporting someone through grief or searching for light in your own darkness, This Was Not the Plan is a reminder that healing doesn’t mean having it all figured out—it means choosing love, again and again.

Author Signing - Jeanean Doherty
Jeanean Doherty:
Jeanean always dreamed of writing a novel—but like many women, she put that dream on hold while raising a family, managing a household, and building a career. As a registered nurse and educator, she wrote for local newspapers and created training materials, but fiction always remained just out of reach. Originally, she set out to write a historical novel about a remarkable ancestor from the 1700s. But it was the voice of that ancestor’s Cherokee wife that refused to be quiet. Her story demanded to be told first. In June 2025, Jeanean published her debut novel, Mixed Blood—a sweeping historical tale born from family lore, deep research, and a writer’s long-held dream come true.
Mixed Blood-In Mixed Blood, history breathes through the voice of Hester, a Cherokee woman whose life straddles the collision of cultures on the American frontier in the 1700s. As the Cherokee Nation is forced to adapt to a patriarchal, market driven society, Hester witnesses a world forever changed, yet fights to preserve the stories that shaped her people. Now an elderly woman living with her son’s family, who have assimilated into white society, Hester shares her memories with her grandchildren, determined that they understand the truth of their heritage.
Her story unfolds across two timelines: her quiet present and her harrowing past, where war, betrayal, and survival have etched themselves into her bones. From stolen homelands to fragile alliances, from matriarchal traditions to the encroaching grip of colonization, Hester endures.
Based on real people and historical events, Mixed Blood offers a vivid reimagining of one woman’s untold life—a mother, a survivor, and a silent witness to the birth of a new America. This is Hester’s story. And she will no longer be silent.
